Definitely not. This is probably an attempt to stole private information or gather e-mail addresses for spamming. It was reported that the email contained Trojan(virus). Same can be with the application. So, please ignore these types of Fake e-mails and such facebook applications. If you find these applications, report them as spam by clicking report spam on their home. Don't open those e-mails. Here is how the wall post looked:

Remove the application under application settings and don't click anything again. Block the app all together
Change your Facebook password immediately, and also your email password if it's the same.
@cindy, you change your password, remove application and report the application. Further, it may have installed Trojan. Scan your computer with updated anti-virus.
Thank you to all of you! Removed application, changed password and am scanning computer now.
I reported this FB yesterday and the application is still available and presumably suckering more victims. Why can't FB make it easier to report malware running on their own network and using the FB logo (in this case a modified version of the iPhone app icon). All I could find to report them for was "inapropriate content"
BTW, if you need updated malware protection and you run Vista or XP, MS now provides their Security Essentials programs free.
