Mozilla has released the beta version of Firefox 3.6 with some upgrades. Firefox 3.6 – code-named Namoroka – is based upon Gecko 1.9.2. With the stable version to be released at the end of this month you may try out the beta version and experience changes on the browser.
Addition of Personas is the major change in this new version of Firefox. With this you can change the look of your browser in a single click without installing additional plugins. For previous versions, Firefox Personas was available after downloading a add-on.
The new features available on Firefox 3.6 beta are:
Users can now change their browser's appearance with a single click, with built in support for Personas(themes).
Firefox 3.6 will alert users about out of date plugins to keep them safe. New warnings to users when they reach a site that calls on outdated plug-ins, such as Adobe's Flash Player or Apple's QuickTime.
Open, native video can now be displayed full screen, and supports poster frames.
Support for the WOFF font format.
Improved JavaScript performance, overall browser responsiveness and startup time.
